Senior Backend Engineer

Buildots is looking for a senior backend engineer to design and scale core data processing pipelines for construction intelligence products. The role is hands-on, focused on Python, cloud infrastructure (AWS), large-scale systems, streaming/message queues, CI/CD, observability, and AI-native development practices. Experience with Computer Vision or 3D rendering is a plus.

• A seasoned backend engineer (7+ years) with strong Python experience.
• BSc. in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
• Proven expertise in large scale systems, specifically focusing on backend development, systems architecture, and high-volume data processing.
• Experience with high-performance, decentralized code development, and parallel processing.
• AI-Native Engineering: You are an AI-native engineer who leverages LLMs and agentic tools (like Cursor, Copilot, or Claude) not just for code completion, but as a core architectural partner to accelerate the entire development lifecycle allowing you to focus on the critical things.
• Comfortable working in a dynamic environment where your architectural decisions have company-wide impact.
• Have a proven track record of being a collaborative team player!
• Skilled in AWS, Docker/Kubernetes, and message queuing/streaming systems (SQS, Kafka, or RabbitMQ).
